Now Mark Martin has announced that 2005 will be his last season racing for the championship, but this doesn't mean he his fully retiring from racing. Some Martin stats: 34 Nextel Cup victories, 213 top-five and 338 top-10 finishes.

In a week of Big Announcements, I've got a few more to let you know about...

Joe Gibbs Racing Announced yesterday that Jason Leffler will in fact be the driver of their newly formed 3rd team for 2005. Jason will wheel the #11 FedEx Chevrolet as a teammate to Bobby Labonte and Tony Stewart.

Yesterday Budweiser unveiled a new 8 pack featuring who else but Dale Earnhardt Jr. on the box. Look for it in stores throughout the country starting now through 2005.

Matt Crafton will finish up the year in his Kevin Harvick owned truck and then he is out. The #6 team sits 5th in points and Matt has 4 top 5's, and 13 top 10's, a new driver will be named at a later time.

Terry Labonte announced he will be running in only 10 Cup races in each of the next two seasons with 2006 being his last year racing. 19 year old Kyle Busch will take over the #5 Chevy full time next year.

Larry Foyt has joined BAM racing as Ken Schrader's teammate for three races. He'll drive the #59 Dodge at Lowes, Atlanta, and Homestead/Miami.

If a Chevrolet wins on Saturday night at Charlotte, they will clinch the manufactures championship already. Chevy has 17 wins in the 30 races in 2004.

On the newly paved track this week are: Matt Kenseth, Joe Nemechek, Scott Riggs, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Michael Waltrip, Ward Burton, Ken Scrader and Rusty Wallace.

Richard Childress Racing announced a couple of things over the weekend. First a newly designed paint scheme for Kevin Harvick's #29 2005 car in honor of GM Goodwrench's 20th year with the team, you can see it right here. Also Clint Bowyer will drive the #2 AC Delco Chevy in 2005, taking over for Ron Hornaday.

OTHER STORIES ON THE DAY

-Jeff Gordon had a costly pit mistake when they left the track bar wrench on the 24 car.

-There were lots of dizzy drivers, as getting loose and spinning seemed to be a common theme.

-Casey Mears while running up front in his 41 Dodge cut a tire and hit the wall.

-Ryan Newman lost control of his 12 car, pancaked the right side, and spun in the infield he finished 33rd.

-The 48 of Jimmie Johnson spun and he ends up 32nd on the day

-Ryan Pemberton crew chief for the 01 Chevy gets his first career win

-It was a 1-2-3 finish for our nations armed forces with the Army, Air Force, and the National Guard.

BUSCH SERIES
Joe Nemechek picked up a win on Saturday, but with a bit of controversy when he kept Tony Stewart from his first series win by putting him in the wall.
