Three crew chiefs have been fined for violations at Talladega a couple of weeks ago. Included is the chief for Morgan Shepard for a crew member not wearing a helmet in the service area, and the chiefs for Dale Jarrett and Kenny Wallace for unapproved underpans on those cars.

Jeff Burton gave some driving advice to some PGA Golfers this week at Lowes Motor Speedway. They are in town for the Wachovia Championship and wanted to give the Richard Petty Driving Experience a shot.

ON TV

First the Speed Channel has added Busch qualifying to next weekends schedule at Richmond. I'll remind you next week about that.

As for this weekend.....

The Cup guys have Moms-day off on Sunday, so it's only Busch Series action from Gateway, and it's a single day event.

The Busch Series Race @ 7:30pm Saturday on FX

The Cup guys have the weekend off, however there are 6 drivers heading to Gateway for the Saturday night Busch race. Pulling the double duty are Michael Waltrip, Robby Gordon, Johnny Sauter, Greg Biffle, Kasey Kahne, and Derrike Cope

Watkins Glen is planning on some upgrades after this years road course event. They'll install new front-stretch grandstands with seat-backs and remodel the Cup Series garage area.

TESTING | RICHMOND

This seems to be the hotbed of activity this week with tons of teams decending on the track. Add to your list from yesterday Kasey Kahne, Johnny Benson, JJ Yeley, Justin Labonte, Brian Vickers and more.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is part of People Magazines "Most Beautiful People" on new stands this week. Jr. is in the company of Jennifer Aniston, New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez and more.

Bobby Labonte is planning another Busch run this year in a #19 Chevy with a Banquet Foods paint scheme. You'll see Bobby in this car on Aug. 21st at Michigan.

TESTING | RICHMOND

A bunch of teams are on track this week for the next race on the schedule after this off weekend to honor Mom. Some of the teams looking to shake down their setups are Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Elliott Sadler, Rusty Wallace, Brendan Gaughan, plus Busch guys Kyle Busch, Bobby Hamilton Jr. and David Stremme.

VICTORY LANE

Jeff Gordon takes home the checkered flag for the second race in a row. Jeff is also the only driver to now have more than one win at California, and he did it with fuel mileage, but just barely running out on his burnout.

OTHER STORIES ON THE DAY

-Heat was a factor with several teams having vapor lock problems

-There were 6 cautions for 39 laps

-Tony Stewart got into Rusty Wallace early on, and Rusty later lashed out against Tony's on track actions lately.

-Points leader Dale Earnhardt Jr. had handling problems all day, and finished 19th, but still leads

-Kasey Kahne had a really strong car, but ran short of gas along with team-mate Jeremy Mayfield.

-Stanton Barrett cut a tire and hit the SAFER wall hard, after his trip to the hospital he credited the track for installing those walls.
