228mph, that is the speed that Rusty Wallace drove his Miller Light Dodge unrestricted at Talladega Superspeedway yesterday. It was part of a special radio test at high speeds for NASCAR, Nextel and Racing Radios. Rusty even said that with a little tweaking on his car, he could have gone 235mph!!!

Ron Hornaday has been docked 25 driver points, and fined $10,000 for using inappropriate language during a live radio interview on Saturday after Greg Biffle spun his car.

Robby Gordon has asked 22 year old Brandon Miller to qualify and practice his #55 Busch car in Nashville this weekend. Robby will be taking care of his #31 Cup ride, and then fly to Nashville to race on Saturday night. He'll start in the back however for not qualifying his own car.

Rusty Wallace was the fastest of 5 drivers at Infineon this week, plus shattered the track record running in qualifying trim. Others testing were Robby Gordon, Terry Labonte, Brian Vickers and Jim Inglebright.

Buckshot Jones will drive in Phoenix Racings #1 Busch car this weekend, it's his first series start in 2 and half years.

If you think your schedule is hectic, check out Rusty Wallace's this week. He's testing in California at Infineon, Talladega Alabama, and Kentucky. Then it's off to Pocono for this weekends events, and onto Phoenix on Monday. He'll pilot most of that himself in his Lear 31A Jet.

Today is Jeff Gordon Day in the state of Michigan as declared by Governor Jennifer Granholm. Gordon has two wins, three polls, and 14 top 5's in 22 Cup starts at their track. Jeff will take the Governor on a high speed ride-a-long as part of the festivities.

Dave Blaney will drive the #30 AOL Cup ride this weekend for Johnny Sauter who has a schedule conflict with his Busch car. Sauter is also out of the car for the up coming Infineon road course race.

The SAFER barriers are being installed this month at Daytona International Speedway. The project will be ready by June 27th, in time for the Pepsi 400 on July 3rd.

TESTING | CHICAGOLAND

At the track this week include Billy Parker, Casey Mears, Mike Bliss and J.J. Yeley. Teams are practicing for their July events.

At KENTUCKY Greg Biffle will shake down his 16 Cup car, and Dale Jarrett will take his 88 UPS Ford for a spin.

-Jeff Gordon had a tire go down, hit the wall, gets a DNF and finishes 36th

-Tony Stewart who led the most laps, missed pit road

-Ryan Newman spun entering pit road, ran out of gas, then had too many guys over the wall and goes a lap down

-THE BIG ONE - A 19 car wreck late in the race took out poll sitter Jeremy Mayfield, 2nd in points Jimmie Johnson, defending race champ Ryan Newman, and a bunch more cars.

-The 9 of Kasey Kahne was on his way to an easy first Cup win, when he slipped in the oil of Casey Mears and wrecked hard. NASCAR didn't appear to call the yellow in time.

-This race had 11 Yellows, and 2 Red flags each lasting about 20 minutes
