Jeff Gordon started the weekend by grabbing the pole for Saturday nights race in Phoenix. He ended up making history on several levels, first it's Jeff's first ever win at Phoenix (believe it or not), and second, he ties Dale Earnhardt on the all time winners list with #76. Gordon now only has two tracks left on the circuit that he hasn't recorded a "W" and they are Texas, and Homestead-Miami. After the win, Jeff had several special moments like driving with a giant #3 flag around the track, getting congratulated by Dale Earnhardt Jr. in victory lane, and kissing his wife's belly, celebrating the win with his unborn child.
Here's how the top 10 stacked up.
Jeff Gordon
Tony Stewart
Denny Hamlin battled back from speeding on pit road
Jimmie Johnson 5th top 5
Matt Kenseth
Jeff Green another great COT run
Kyle Busch
Bobby Labonte a much needed good run
Johnny Sauter
Kevin Harvick
