Roush hauler wrecks in Texas Print

The Roush Racing hauler carrying the #6 Cup car of David Ragan was involved in a multi-vehicle accident in Texas.  It happened about 85 miles east of El Paso Wednesday morning.  The hauler was headed back to North Carolina after testing ended in Las Vegas.  All injuries were non-life threatening, shut down the I-10 for 5 hours, and David Ragan was not involved.

OFFICIAL TEAM STATEMENT:

Roush Racing can confirm that the No.6 Nextel Cup transporter was involved in a multi-vehicle accident with injuries in Sierra Blanca, TX in route from Las Vegas, NV to Concord, N.C.  We will provide additional details as they become available.

Team Update:

Concord, N.C. (February 1, 2007) - Two Roush Racing employees were injured in a multi-vehicle accident 85 miles east of El Paso, Texas yesterday morning.  Justin Grebe, the driver of the No. 6 Roush Racing NEXTEL Cup transporter was treated and released from Thomason Hospital.  Driving partner Joe Millikan, a passenger, is in stable condition in the Thomason Hospital intensive care unit.  The two were returning to Concord, N.C. from a test in Las Vegas, Nev.  According to local news reports, two other people also were taken to Thomason Hospital after suffering non life-threatening injuries.  The cause of the crash has not been determined.  Roush Racing will provide additional details as they become available. 

Vegas gets even faster Print

Preseason Thunder in Las Vegas continues....and Tuesday was day #2 and speeds were getting even faster if you can believe it.  Paul Menards Chevy clocked a speed of 188.370mph in the morning session.  Elliott Sadler was even faster in the PM session running a lap of 188.772mph followed by Scott Riggs, David Gilliland, David Stremme, and Johnny Sauter.
Baseball's Ripkin to pace field Print

The star power just keeps on coming when it comes to the Great American race...The Daytona 500.  Add hall of fame baseball player Cal Ripkin Jr. to the list, and his job is downright cool...he'll be driving the pace car to lead the field to the green flag.
Edwards to run the triple Print

Carl Edwards will be doing triple duty at Daytona International Speedway to open up the season as Roush Racing announced that Carl will take the wheel of their #50 Ford.  Check him out on Feb 16th along with the rest of the Craftsman Truck Series.
Champ provisional is tweaked Print

NASCAR has tweaked the past champion's provisional rule for the Cup Series this season.  There is now a 6 use limit during the entire 36 race schedule for a past champion to use.  The provisional allows a past champion to grab that 43rd starting spot if they don't qualify on time.
